Back in the Fort

Seriously, though, this sux. Rakkie had clogged up the kitchen sink, and with the poison ivy rash on my arms, it was seriously impossible to wash any dishes. The water level and the crap in it, ugh, made it unsafe with the rash, secondary infections are no fun. Rakkie made it clear he knew he had created the mess, and he didn't give a crap that it was causing problems for me. WTF?

Post Regarding Graduate Project

Possible Topics for Study (Graduate Project)

* Proselytizing or Evangelism: Protestant and Catholic Missionaries in Bolivia

* Missionary Children: Socialization, and Following Parental Lead

* Helping Indigenous Peoples Beyond the Scope of Evangelism

* NGOs, Governmental, and Private Individuals: How They Interact, Impede Each Other, and Benefit Their Target Populations When Combined

Situation in Bolivia as a Whole

President Evo Morales is the first indigenous president, very anti-Bush, but willing to give Obama a chance, although he is slightly anti-American. Most people in Bolivia who adhere to a western religion are Catholic. Many still adhere to an indigenous religion or spiritual belief system. Many missionaries target not just those who maintain an indigenous belief system, but also target Catholic worshipers, but still assert that this practice falls within the definition of 'evangelize' based on the premise that 'all Catholics are going to hell', and therefore need to be brought to a 'true religion'.

Situation in Ixiamas

Farm setting, primitive at home with some minor solar power provided, missionary families nearby with children being home schooled, (these are the ones to be schooled together upon arrival), computers in net cafe in town, more information soon.

Time Spent in Indy

Monday we packed and then came down, not knowing for sure when we'd be going back to Fort Wayne.  Tuesday we spent the day getting used to being here, it's great, we love it, and don't want to go back to Fort Wayne.  You'd think Indy turn out to be a big dusty city with air pollution, right?  Not here, not where we're at, very nice, and very quiet.  Today is Wednesday, so I finished up the rest of the dishes in the kitchen, took some more garbage out, cleaned up some brush around the ladder leading up to the fort for MrBaby.  He likes seeing the cars and trucks going by super fast on the highway behind the house.  I showed him on the maps at google where the highway was at, and he got all excited because he could see the big yellow slide in the back yard.  Then the little poophead turned the computer off.  Yikes, don't tell Ashe but I heard the 'you are my sunshine' song on tv today, right after this, and was singing it to MrBaby, and then said oh, no, don't tell Sisser, that's her song!  MrBaby didn't seem to mind either way.  Then we had ice cream and MrBaby screamed for mine, in addition to his own.  A bit later, he was acting like he was a cat, eating ice cream, just like we let Smoke eat some.
