Danny's house got broken into
They tried to break in here, too, but whoever it was ran off when Mommy tapped on the window and shouted 'who the hell are you?' This was about midnight, 12:30 am.
Theresa brought the kerosene heater over this afternoon, cause it got down to 50 in here. Losing a degree for about every hour with no power.

Mommy Found a New Baby Fish in the Aquarium Today
He was there when she turned the light on. Only one, very tiny, so maybe (hopefully) he's the first. He's in the graveled snail jar now.

MrBaby's Snail Died
Mommy looked and looked for him. He was last seen at the top of the water, straight ahead from the filter. When Mommy found his shell in the gravel, it was directly below where she had last seen him. Planaria were at work. Wonder how long it will take to be ready to come out of the tank.
Insurance company
How did they know to send me a check for $17.99 for medications for Rakkie? Do they just take claims for meds, with no office visit? Why did they approve that when they are claiming that they don't have the original office visit paperwork (receipt)? Because they lost it and think I will believe them that I never sent it. Do they really think I will believe that I only sent in the claim form and a prescription receipt??? I told them I was going to the school, and expalin to them that the insuarance company was pretty much refusing to pay out on a claim, and that they were giving me the run around. I also told them that if I had to, I would sue their client, meaning the school corporation. Now, they hang up on me after leaving me on hold for almost half an hour. I went through the voice mail system and left a message on Diana's voice mail that I need to know for Amy if they put in a stop payment order on the check or not. This crap is STUPID! I need a WALL!!!
Mommy foundher asthma meds!!!
Yay!!! they were on the back of Josh's door. Mommy knew he didn't know they were there. How? Because if he had known, there wouldn't be any tootsie rolls in the bag still.

Corey called...
Then had to go, another call came in, but he never called back. Silly Corey.
Gene printed off a bunch of papers for Mommy tonight. He had a horrible time of it, too.

Stupid Insurance Company
I don't even know where to begin. This happened over a year ago, the start of it all. And I am still not reimbursed. Rakkie got hurt at school, clearing out brush from the river's edge. This is after the school knew he was allergic to anything green. Hello? Grass is GREEN. He is allergic to GRASS. Do not have him clean up your grass or around grass. He got poison ivy so bad that his skin started to split in places. He actually agreed to go to the doctor's office. He got two shots in his butt. Not fun at all. Made him almost faint. Manuela had to hold him up when we walked out to her car. I paid for the visit at the time - $96 cash. Got the receipt. I called the school's office, asking how to get reimbursed, since he got hurt there at school, during school hours. They sent me the claim forms. I sent them in, and included the bill, showing I had already paid it in full. Mind you, this is in September, of 2007. This is now December, of 2008.
After playing phone tag with these people, I gave it a rest. Every couple of months, I would start calling them again. They explained it was a lengthy process, it could take several weeks. I reminded them several times it had already been several months.
Then, I figured I was going to need the $96 for the Nipsco gas bill this month. This decision came in early November. I started to call several times a week, asking for the status, explaining that this had been going on for over a year. They said they needed certain papers. Ok, I sent them. No, the ones I sent didn't have all the information they wanted. So I sent more. Still, not good enough. I had the doctor's billing office's very nice lady named Amy send paperwork. No, those papers didn't have everything needed, either. I ended up with one office on the house phone and the other office on the cell phone. The billing office faxed it. They got it at the insurance company alright, but it was too light, and they said they couldn't read it. Amy mailed it out in hard copy. Not good enough. Amy sent it again.
Then, the insurance office called me on Monday night. They sent the check out. I asked where they sent it. Well, to the doctor's office, of course. (Silly me.) I asked """WHY?""" Oh, that is the rule when there is no receipt. WHAT?!?!?!!?!?! They had receipts. Plenty of copies, written up different ways. They had lost the first copies I had sent along with the claim papers, which were the original receipt papers. These were the ones I had gotten from the doctor's office staff when I paid the bill. The insurance company said it was not good enough that the papers they had said 'self pay' and had the bill for services, with a 'payment received' slot, and a 'balance' slot of $0.00. I asked if they would accept another document from the billing office, in the form of a receipt, and they said yes, but that it would take another two weeks before they could get me a check. I asked if they could expedite it like they had already done with the one they now needed to put a stop payment on. The answer was 'I guess so'. So I called Amy back, gave her the new fax line number, and asked her to please send a receipt this time. Right now, I don't know what the status is, but as soon as I have the cash in my hand, I am complaining to the school system. This is utterly ridiculous.
Linux, anyone?
Rakkie put linux on the computer on Sunday. Not sure if it will be a good thing or not. As long as I can do my homework, I think it'll be ok. MrBaby sure does like the penguin paint system. Here's a picture of what he did last night.
Dreamed last night that he cut his toe on the underside of a door when someone opened it for him. Maybe, but Mommy doesn't remember anything like that happening lately. It did a summer or two ago, at a restaurant, but not at home, and that got the top of his toe, not the front edge of it or the bottom. His next two toes have a reddish tint to them, too, now. Mommy put silvadene on all of them. Hopefully, it works.

Cold today
Very cold and wet today.
Can't figure out a bunch of linux. Ick.
MrBaby's toe is looking better, at least earlier it did. Then he said it was itching. When Mommy looked at it, it had split open, sideways, across the tip of his toe. No blood, though. Really weird. No puss, either. Just a little bit of dried blood on the inner part of the opening. Already put some athlete's foot stuff on it, hoping that helps.

MrBaby's Toe is Looking Better
Kinda. Not sure, it looks bad, then looks ok. *sigh* He says it is ok, and to leave it alone. Is it really, or is that a guy thing he is already buying into?

A Package Came Back
Just very glad that paypal refunded me the cost of it. It was $15.04. We are putting up the tree and taking it easy this weekend. It's snowing, so hopefully we can get some sled time in, too. Mommy sent her professor an email asking for an incomplete so she can write a better paper. Keeping fingers crossed, at least mentally......... Aunt Sissie thought an incomplete meant I flunked, no no no, it means I am taking more time and the scores from the class are incomplete, so no letter grade can be reported yet.
We put the tree up, too. Very very pretty.
